Job summary

Lithia & Driveway Grapevine Honda is seeking a Used Car Technician to diagnose and repair pre-owned vehicles, ensuring safety and quality in every service. You will perform repairs per repair orders, road-test vehicles, and maintain thorough documentation of work performed.

The role requires strong diagnostic abilities, familiarity with OEM standards, and commitment to safety. A high school diploma or equivalent and automotive tech training are preferred, with potential ASE/OEM certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive technology preferred.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Technician with used vehicle reconditioning, repair, and maintenance experience.
• OEM-certified technician preferred (CDJR, Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or other manufacturer certifications).

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Ensure that customer’s vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Complete all required training.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.
• Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
• Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.
• Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.

The Used Car Technician is responsible for performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards. This individual utilizes their skills to diagnose and resolve the different sources of automotive problems swiftly and accurately. The Service Technician works with all Service personnel and management to ensure the satisfaction of our customers.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive technology preferred

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with team members when needed
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
