Oakes Auto Group in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Used Car Technician to inspect, repair, and recon vehicles to frontline-ready standards. You’ll perform full used car inspections, light maintenance, and document findings while keeping up with rapid inventory turnover.

Candidates should have 2+ years of automotive experience (lube, line, or recon), own basic tools, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive technician experience (lube, line, or recon).
• Experience with inspections, basic diagnostics, and light mechanical work.
• Own basic set of tools and reliable transportation.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform full used car inspections (UCI), including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and drivability.
• Complete basic maintenance such as oil changes, fluid services, filters, batteries, brakes, and tires.
• Handle light mechanical and recon repairs to prepare vehicles for the lot quickly and correctly.
• Document findings, flag hours accurately, and communicate with advisors and managers on needed repairs.
• Ensure vehicles are fully frontline-ready, including final road tests and quality checks.
