Job summary

Southern Auto Group is seeking qualified automotive technicians to service and repair vehicles per management instructions while following standards and procedures. You may perform pre-delivery inspection on new cars to ensure optimal condition for customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience.
• Two years of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred.
• ASE certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Virginia State Inspection License (or willingness to obtain).
• Broad automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge.
• Unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly professional and dependable.
• Safety- and customer-service oriented.
• Basic computer and internet skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing.
• Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs.
• Repairs automobiles and light trucks as assigned.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs.
• Ensures required documentation is complete and compliant with regulations and standards.
• Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and supports shop efficiency.
• Follows all shop policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
• Att ends staff meetings, training, and classes as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
