Job summary

Tansky Sawmill Toyota seeks a qualified Used Car Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, and recondition pre-owned vehicles across multiple makes and models. You will assess conditions, document findings, and recommend repairs with clear explanations to the Service Advisor.

In this role you will use diagnostic tools and manufacturer procedures, test-drive vehicles, and ensure repairs meet safety and quality standards while maintaining an organized work area and complying with shop policies.

Qualifications

• Automotive repair experience with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safe, quality repairs.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Dependable attendance and a professional attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to complete a drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough used vehicle inspections and clearly document findings and recommended repairs.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and other vehicle systems.
• Complete maintenance and reconditioning work efficiently while following dealership standards and applicable manufacturer procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment, service information, and special tools to identify problems accurately.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor and reconditioning team about repair needs, labor estimates, and completion times.
• Test-drive vehicles and verify that completed repairs address the identified concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop safety procedures.
