Suburban Subaru in Vernon, Connecticut is seeking a Used Car Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This full-time role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing used vehicles to maintain safety and quality of inventory.

Base pay plus commission recognizes performance and offers career advancement within the dealership. You will work with the service team, stay current with automotive technology, and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience as a used car mechanic/technician in a dealership or repair shop.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols.
• Must have own set of tools.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test drive used vehicles to identify issues.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain used vehicles per dealer standards.
• Record and report repair information to management.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Stay updated with automotive technology through training.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team for efficient workflow.
• Provide excellent customer service and address vehicle repair questions.
