Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brake systems, and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot complex vehicle systems and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
  • Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify concerns and ensure quality repairs.
  • Stay current on automotive technologies, EV systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Participate in manufacturer and industry training programs.
  • Maintain required certifications and credentials.
  • Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership/shop standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Accurately document findings, repairs performed, labor times, and parts utilized.
  • Communicate repair needs and recommendations to Service Advisors and Service Managers.
  • Perform oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, inspections, and manufacturer-recommended maintenance.
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards before being returned to customers.

Premier Subaru is a Connecticut-based automotive dealership specializing in the sale, leasing, and service of new and pre-owned Subaru vehicles. The dealership operates locations in Branford and Middlebury, serving customers throughout the greater New Haven, Hartford, and surrounding Connecticut markets. The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining cars and light trucks to ensure safe and reliable vehicle performance. This role performs routine maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and repairs across key vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, accurate diagnostic skills, quality workmanship, and a commitment to delivering efficient, first-time-fix repairs while properly documenting all service work.

What You’ll Do:
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer procedures.

  • Accurately document findings, repairs performed, labor times, and parts utilized.
  • Communicate repair needs and recommendations to Service Advisors and Service Managers.
  • Maintain complete and accurate repair records. Automotive technicians commonly document work performed and communicate findings to service advisors.
  • Perform oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, inspections, and manufacturer-recommended maintenance.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards before being returned to customers.
What You’ll Need:
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school or vocational training in Automotive Technology preferred.
Experience
