Job summary

Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC in Green Bay, WI, part of American Foods Group, is seeking a Maintenance II to support our Acme Street plant. The role focuses on welding, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, hydraulics, and equipment reliability to keep production running.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, reading drawings, and mentoring junior staff; applicants must have 3 years in manufacturing maintenance and be able to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

  • Must have 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must read and work from drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with welding (TIG, MIG, STICK) and basic hydraulics/pneumatics.
  • Able to work extended hours Monday through Saturday with overtime as needed.
  • Must complete required training: Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, Food defense, Forklift, Lock out/Tag out.

Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC

an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for a Maintenance II at our Acme Street plant in Green Bay, WI.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g. Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
  • Perform basic welding (e.g. primarily TIG; some MIG and Stick). Ability to identify good and bad welds.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g. grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc.) to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g. threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, structure or building in repair.
  • Perform basic forklift maintenance (change tires, replace bushings, etc.).
  • Perform basic hydraulics (e.g. change motors, make hoses, etc.).
  • Complete necessary paperwork (PM sheets, work orders, etc.).
  • Assist in performing maintenance on scale equipment (e.g. portable, floor, and matrix - hot/cold) in applicable area(s).
  • Perform intermediate plumbing (e.g. install and maintain piping).
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair or replace defective equipment or parts, using hand tools and power tools (e.g. change belts, gear boxes, etc.).
  • Perform TIG, Stick, MIG welding.
  • Provide guidance and train lower level employees on maintenance processes and standards.
  • NOTE this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools and the ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete training
    • Safety.
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF).
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Food defense.
    • Forklift.
    • Lock out/Tag out.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior maintenance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and operation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of/or successful completion of tech school course to obtain certificate in
    • TIG, Stick, and MIG welding.
    • Pneumatics.
    • Hydraulics.
    • Diagnosing and maintaining equipment/parts inspect, operate, adjust, test, maintain or align to identify malfunctions. (e.g. hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, forklift, pallet jack, walker, scales portable, floor, matrix - hot/cold, conveyors, Cryovac, saws, overhead chains, etc.).
