Logistics Specialist Urban Search and Rescue Task Force

Department: Training and Operations
Reports to: USAR and Technical Rescue Program Manager
Location: Abu Dhabi & Guardian Centers, GA

Role Overview:

Guardian Centers of Georgia, a comprehensive training organization for military and first responders based in Perry, Georgia, is seeking an experienced USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) Technician with expertise in warehousing, equipment management, fleet operations, asset tracking, maintenance, and cache management to work directly and daily with the United Arab Emirates Guard Urban Search and Rescue Teams, support division.

NOTE: THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE RELOCATION TO ABU DHABI.

As a key member of the management team, you will collaborate with the UAE USAR Team’s support division to develop logistical goals and objectives. This position involves daily interaction with the UAE Guard in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and reports directly to the USAR and Technical Rescue Program Manager.

The USAR Logistics Specialist will work closely with the UAE Guard Support Operations on logistics and administrative projects. The candidate should be a former logistics specialist from a USAR Task Force. In this role, you will serve as a trainer, mentor, and supervisor, guiding the development of standard operating procedures, checklists, and operational protocols for the UAE USAR Task Force.

This role is critical to enhancing the operational readiness of USAR teams through organization and communication. The position requires daily coordination with the UAE Guard in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Training:

• Develop and maintain a detailed training schedule for USAR Team members on logistical activities.
• Coordinate with management, logistics teams, and stakeholders to confirm training priorities and requirements.
• Develop and implement a logistics specialist training program, including mobilization, base management, and demobilization.
• Oversee document development to support classification processes.
• Manage logistics for the UAE rescue team, including transport and equipment logistics for training.

Logistics Management:

• Research and introduce asset and equipment tracking systems, including manual, database, and barcode systems.
• Develop cache management procedures, including inventory, maintenance, and equipment tracking.
• Coordinate logistics for travel, including flights, ground transportation, and accommodations.
• Ensure all travel documents and itineraries are prepared ahead of training events.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare training documentation and maintain records per USAR standards.
• Audit processes and prepare post-training reports and feedback surveys.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as the main contact for training queries.
• Communicate updates and key information effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments and external partners.

Budget Management:

• Assist in budget preparation, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in training program reviews and suggest improvements.
• Develop new training initiatives with USAR leadership.

Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years in USAR, with active USAR Task Force membership.
• 2-3 years in training coordination, project management, or logistics.
• Technician-level certification in Rope, Structural Collapse, Confined Space, and Trench rescue.
• Proficiency in procurement processes and organizational purchasing policies.
• Experience with USAR or public safety training programs is highly desirable.
