We are seeking a talented and passionate candidate to support one of our clients located in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to be considered for this position.

Position: Usability/Human Factors Engineer - Level 2

BlueHalo PRIME contract is seeking a Usability/Human Factors Engineer 2 to join the software development team. The role involves developing and maintaining integrated, feature-rich capabilities to support modernization of visualization and presentation tools.

The team provides application development and support for tools enabling mission analysts to view existing data or contribute new information collaboratively. The Usability/Human Factors Engineer 2 will address user experience challenges in a highly complex application used by diverse users. The role includes collaborating with developers, managers, and system engineers to keep the product at the forefront of technology, researching and documenting user workflows, designing mockups, engaging with users, and working with development tools such as Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

  • Work performed at the contractor facility in Annapolis Junction
Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $126k - $157k, depending on experience and contract.

Benefits include up to 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, immediate eligibility for healthcare (single and family), and a 401(k) plan with employer match.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in cognitive and/or experimental psychology, human factors engineering, or a related engineering field (e.g., systems engineering, software engineering, business process engineering). An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field, with familiarity in task analysis, user interface design, and usability testing.
  • At least 5 years of user-experience design and testing experience.
  • Experience conducting usability testing and collaborating with product designers and process engineers.
  • Designing and developing user surveys to gather feedback.
  • Experience applying usability and software engineering cycle phases: analysis, design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Ability to work closely with analysts to research and document user profiles, workflows, and scenarios to inform UI design.
Desired Capabilities
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Human Factors Engineering Professional or Certified Usability Analyst are preferred.
