Belay Technologies - Usability/Human Factors Engineer (UXE2)

Belay Technologies, recognized as Baltimore Business Journal's (BBJ) Best Places to Work 2019, runner-up in 2020, and a finalist in 2021, is seeking a Usability/Human Factors Engineer (UXE2) to join our intel team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the AEA UX Design team to address user experience challenges within the IC, working with developers, managers, and system engineers to keep intelligence products innovative and current.

The team researches and documents user workflows, designs front-end systems, creates mockups, engages with users, and interacts with multiple development teams using tools like Axure, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Figma, and XD.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope polygraph is required.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design, Psychology, Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE), Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Process Engineering, or related field.

Skills

• Designing graphic user interface elements such as menus, tabs, and widgets.
• Experience with UI prototyping, visual communication, and interactive design.
• Enterprise UX experience across multiple applications.
• Experience with omni-channel marketing/design is a plus.
• Background in workflow and usability testing, capable of suggesting improvements based on user and customer feedback.
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills to translate complex ideas into visual formats.

Responsibilities

• Develop workshop scripts and facilitate UX methods to gather user feedback and create UX artifacts.
• Evaluate and develop information architectures for product structure and layout.
• Create wireframes to evaluate product structure pre-development.
• Collaborate with designers and developers to produce UX artifacts and provide UX expertise during development.
• Conduct usability tests and heuristic evaluations using standard UX principles.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
• Analyze data to generate strategic insights.
