Job description

Position Summary

Lead sales and operations within the Vision Center, ensuring a superior customer experience, product availability, and compliance with Walmart’s policies and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive Vision Center sales through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signing, and inventory management.
• Plan and forecast sales, assessing economic trends and community needs.
• Model and enforce high‑quality customer‑member service, resolving complaints within company guidelines.
• Implement community outreach programs and encourage associates to act as active community members.
• Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, analyzing reports to implement asset protection and safety controls.
• Oversee safety, operational, and quality‑assurance reviews, developing action plans to improve performance.
• Supervise, hire, train, mentor, and develop Vision Center associates, providing recognition and fostering a sense of belonging.
• Consult with and educate members on eyewear, selecting products based on needs, taking measurements, verifying prescriptions, performing minor frame repair, and maintaining optical equipment.
• Uphold the Open Door Policy by meeting with associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing policies, and suggesting resolutions.
• Coordinate job‑related activities and assignments, building relationships with stakeholders and measuring progress toward goals.
• Build high‑performing teams, embracing diversity and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
• Act with integrity, modeling Walmart values and supporting the company's regenerative goals.
• Prioritize the customer, applying business models that put the customer first and making decisions based on data insights.
• Drive continuous improvement, adopting new technologies and encouraging learning from mistakes.

Qualifications

• Completion of 2+ years of college OR 1 year of retail experience AND 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience including 1 year of optical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws and regulations.
• Preferred: Experience supervising associates.
