What you'll do

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at our retail store, your role will involve executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart facilities, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you'll adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures.

Position Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Can move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Able to work in various temperatures
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in trades like plumbing, electrical, material handling, or related trade

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills and tools
• Utilize work order management system for reactive repairs and documentation
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete required training for safe operation of equipment and tools

Compensation

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00-$35.00. The actual rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the location. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, or work performed.

Minimum Qualifications

Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, or material handling, or 5 years of related work experience. Valid Driver's License and eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program, trade-related license, or proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
