Alternatively, 7 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Role summary: The Staff, Technical Program Manager will lead complex technology initiatives by coordinating cross-functional teams and managing program delivery from inception through completion. This role requires expertise in program and stakeholder management, agile methodologies, and software development lifecycle to drive process improvements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential to facilitate seamless execution of technology solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing Walmart's technical capabilities by overseeing strategic programs that support operational excellence and innovation within a dynamic environment.

About the team: The GTP PMO Team plays a vital role in advancing execution within the organization by overseeing internal deliverables across multiple teams. It manages risks and dependencies to ensure timely outcomes while automating frameworks and fostering strong relationships. The team handles complex technology initiatives, providing technical program managers with exposure to various technology domains and collaboration within a supportive peer group. Emphasizing effective program adoption and continuous improvement, the team aligns with Walmart’s core values and promotes growth through structured processes and cross-functional engagement across Global Technology.

What you’ll bring:

Proven Program Expertise: Demonstrated experience in planning, execution, and risk mitigation for medium to high-complexity initiatives.
Stakeholder Alignment: Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven record of coordinating cross-functional dependencies and building relationships.
In-depth SDLC & Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of Agile methodology, system design concepts, APIs, cloud computing, and hardware/software lifecycles (EOL, upgrades, migrations).
Fact-Based Decisions: Ability to analyze data and use fact-finding techniques to improve processes and deliver measurable outcomes.
Leadership & Mentoring: Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team members while promoting ethical standards and operational excellence.

Sunnyvale, California US-11657: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09050: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
Option 2: 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in Project Management.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 3 years’ experience in product design.
