Walmart in Clinton, MD is seeking a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair within Walmart Refrigeration HVAC systems across our local store facilities. You will use commercial HVAC/R skills, hand/power tools, and digital tools to complete jobs efficiently.

The role requires extensive refrigeration HVAC experience, EPA certification, and the ability to work with complex rack refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• 18+ years with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in large scale rack refrigeration.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical journeyman where required.
• 1–2 years experience in plumbing, electrical, or store operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial tools.
• Use work order system to manage repairs and document activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete safety training and operate equipment safely.
• Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations per Walmart policy.

As a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at our local retail store, your role will support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
• Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Job Duties

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines by performing work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and comfortable working at heights frequently.

Compensation

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications and other job-related factors.

Eligible for bonus incentive.

The hourly wage range for this position is $39.00 - $77.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
