Job description

Position Summary: As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver more of what our members love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What you'll do:
  1. Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, develop interpersonal skills for customer service, be flexible to business needs, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
  2. Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of various meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications (cutting, slicing, grinding, wrapping), ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation, and inventory management, and operate and sanitize equipment.
  3. Be a Techie: Use digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and boost associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, and encourage others to adopt new tools.
  4. Be an Owner: Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring quality standards, reducing waste, securing fragile or high-shrink merchandise, assisting members with purchasing decisions, and ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and storage.
  5. Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and club by valuing the member experience, modeling high-quality service, training associates, and recognizing contributions.
  6. Compliance and Work Management: Follow company policies, procedures, and ethics. Complete work assignments by prioritizing tasks, collaborating with team members, communicating progress, and seeking continuous improvement.
  7. Respect the Individual: Embrace diversity, create a supportive workplace, build trusting relationships, and foster a culture of belonging.
  8. Act with Integrity: Maintain high standards of ethics, model company values, hold oneself and others accountable, and support Walmart’s goal of positive impact.
  9. Serve our Customers and Members: Deliver results with a customer-first approach, make informed decisions, and consider the impact on the team and stakeholders.
  10. Strive for Excellence: Be curious, take calculated risks, support continuous improvement, and adapt to new technologies and skills.
