Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Construction-DS, leads the execution and delivery of construction projects, ensuring completion on schedule, within scope, and budget. This role directs contractors and design partners to maintain compliance with Walmart's standards and applicable regulations. The position requires proactive risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and oversight of project governance from pre-construction through closeout. The manager drives process improvements, enforces quality control, and provides leadership to project teams while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to support operational priorities and achieve business objectives effectively.

The team leads remodel construction projects for existing stores, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards. They collaborate closely with contractors, facility management, and cross-functional partners to minimize operational impact and resolve challenges. Emphasizing effective communication and risk management, the team drives projects from planning through completion. What you'll do

What you'll bring


  • Extensive experience in construction management with proven ability to lead complex projects from initiation to completion on schedule and within budget.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.

  • Expertise in contract management, vendor coordination, and negotiation to ensure compliance and optimal project outcomes.

  • Proficiency in risk management, quality control, and financial oversight to maintain project governance and mitigate issues.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage cross-functional partners and stakeholders effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices for construction delivery.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 3 years' experience in construction management, construction administration, engineering, architecture, or a related area.

  • OR 5 years' experience in construction management, construction administration, engineering, architecture, or a related area.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in compliance in construction and real estate management or related area.

  • Experience managing large-scale retail, industrial, or multi-site construction program delivery, including new build or remodel environments, specifically as a project manager or superintendent for general contractors or owners.

  • Experience using construction project management platforms (for example, Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or equivalent).

  • Experience with procurement and contract management processes for construction services.

  • Experience with sustainability, energy efficiency, and green building standards (for example, LEED or equivalent).

  • Professional certification (OSHA10, OSHA30, PE, PMP, CCM, LEED AP, or equivalent).
