Team Lead - Sam’s Club MAP (General Merchandise – Technology, Entertainment, & Office)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Leader to lead a Sam’s Club MAP sales team for a portion of the General Merchandise categories, supporting Technology, Entertainment, & Office. Reporting to the Industry Manager – Director of Ad Sales, you will manage a team of 2-3 sales professionals. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and creative thinker with experience in managing and scaling businesses, and the ability to motivate a high-performing team. You should be adept at working cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions for clients and the team and be a solution-seeking problem solver.

What You Will Do:

Drive the future strategic direction of the business and manage a talented, consultative sales team. Develop and implement data-driven solutions for clients, leveraging capabilities such as sponsored search, display, social, CTV, and in-store events. Collaborate with merchants and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and promote Sam's Club MAP at targeted events. Deliver exceptional member experiences and be seen as a leader within Sam’s Club and the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the future strategic direction of the business.
  • Build, inspire, train, and manage a talented, motivated, highly consultative sales and services team.
  • Forecast and allocate resources to drive profitable business results.
  • Share best practices across the entire sales team to enhance talent and overall performance.
  • Understand our clients' businesses and develop appropriate data-driven solutions to meet their needs.
  • Execute projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research, and strategy development.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth with new and existing customers.
  • Act as a point of escalation for any potential issues.
  • Consult with Product Marketing to help shape product development in support of client needs across the business.
  • Promote Sam's Club MAP with agencies and suppliers at targeted events, conferences, and media opportunities.
  • Champion Sam’s Club MAP product releases internally and externally.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and present Sam's Club MAP's solutions in a compelling, positive, and professional way.
  • Be seen as a leader within Sam’s Club and the industry.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience driving revenue growth within established partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of advertising technology, data, and performance measurement trends.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading a team to surpass its targets and significantly grow the scale of business partnerships.
  • Ability to move fast, be bold, and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with a strong focus on collaboration.
  • Skilled storyteller with experience communicating the benefits of marketing opportunities to brands.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with an emphasis on translating insights, product information, and data into client value.
  • Proven ability to forge relationships with top marketing decision-makers at brands and agencies.
  • Demonstrable success as a leader of change, achieving operational excellence by introducing new performance measures, processes, and systems.
  • Provide strong leadership with the ability to build, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team, including providing coaching and mentoring to other members of Sam’s Club MAP.

The annual salary range for this position varies by location and experience, with additional compensation through performance bonuses.
