Job description

Position Summary

At Walmart, we help people save money so they can live better. This mission serves as the foundation for every decision we make and inspires us to shape the future of retail through data, technology, and innovation.

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Manager of Advanced Analytics to join our Inventory Transformation team. In this role, you will drive business impact by applying advanced analytics to complex supply chain and inventory challenges. Collaborating with cross-functional partners, you will develop insights, optimize processes, and influence decision-making at scale.

This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone with a strong foundation in analytics and data modeling, an ownership mindset, and a passion for improving inventory flow within one of the world's largest supply chains.

What you'll do
  • Translate analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for data science, engineering, and merchandising teams
  • Own analytics projects end-to-end—from problem framing and data exploration to recommendations and stakeholder alignment
  • Develop scalable SQL queries, dashboards, and lightweight models to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct exploratory and scenario-based analyses to shape future product capabilities and optimize decision frameworks
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand inventory and availability challenges and recommend data-driven solutions
  • Help scale automation, standardization, and process improvements across replenishment and forecasting
What you'll need to succeed
  • End-to-end ownership experience in replenishment, forecasting, or inventory management solutions and processes
  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive outcomes in ambiguous or evolving environments
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
  • Understanding of modeling concepts and ability to interpret or support statistical models used in forecasting or optimization
  • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences through storytelling, presentations, and written documents
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics, business insights, or strategy roles
  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
  • Prior experience in retail, ecommerce, or inventory planning
  • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations or high-stakes programs

Beyond competitive pay, you will receive incentive awards based on performance. Additional benefits include 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, paid parental leave, PTO, multiple health plans, and more.
