Position Summary: As a General Transportation Manager, you will lead the strategic and day-to-day operations of a transportation network that supports the movement of freight safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring seamless collaboration across supply chain, transportation, and business partners to deliver exceptional service to our stores, clubs, customers, and communities. What You’ll Do

Lead Transportation Operations

• Direct and oversee transportation operations for a distribution or transportation facility, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of business objectives.
• Establish operational priorities, communicate clear expectations, and monitor performance against key business metrics.
• Balance service, cost, capacity, and productivity goals while maintaining a focus on customer and business needs.
• Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Fleet, Transportation Command Center, and other stakeholders to deliver results.

Drive Business Performance

• Manage facility budgets and financial performance by monitoring expenses, asset utilization, and operational costs.
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Develop and execute business plans that improve service levels, productivity, and overall transportation efficiency.
• Remove barriers to execution and implement solutions that drive sustainable results.

Lead Through Emergencies and Business Disruptions

• Partner with the Transportation Command Center and Emergency Operations teams to support business continuity efforts.
• Coordinate alternate transportation solutions and routing strategies during weather events, emergencies, or network disruptions.
• Ensure the continuous movement of freight into and throughout affected markets while maximizing available resources.

Build and Develop High-Performing Teams

• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain top talent across transportation operations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and professional growth.
• Provide clear performance expectations, ongoing feedback, and development opportunities for associates and leaders.

The annual salary range for this position is $116,000.00 - $174,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field and 3 years’ supervisory experience in a senior management role within an operation, distribution, supply chain, or retail environment OR 5 years’ supervisory experience in a senior management role in an operations, distribution, supply chain, or retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications
