Sam's Club is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator in Eagan, Minnesota. The role involves safely operating forklifts, maintaining inventory flow, and providing exceptional member service. Candidates should have prior forklift certification and customer service experience.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 to $29.00, along with comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and a company-paid education benefit program.
Complies with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Operates forklift following Company standards and guidelines by safely picking up, moving, placing, and positioning merchandise pallets. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers and other business partners, identifying priorities, deadlines and expectations, carrying out tasks, communicating progress, and determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities and adapting to change, difficulties and feedback. Receives stocks and organizes merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers throughout the facility by managing inventory flow following company policy and procedures for utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, working inventory exceptions, correcting shelf capacities and completing and retaining required paperwork logs and other documentation. Provides member service by acknowledging the member and identifying member needs, providing guidance and support to members regarding self-service technology, assisting members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving member issues and concerns, and promoting the company’s products and services.
Maintains safety of facility according to company policies and procedures by conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, handling and disposing of hazardous materials in accordance with company steel standard guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to management. Maintains the sales floor and merchandising presentation in accordance with company policies, properly zones the area, stocks and rotates merchandise; removes damaged or out‑of‑date goods, sets up cleaning and organizing product displays, maintains modular integrity, receives, sorts, stages, and delivers merchandise, ensuring prominent display of promotional and seasonal merchandise, processes defective merchandise per company and regulatory policies for sanitation and food safety, and monitors shrink, security risks and safety. Ensures club pickup orders are filled by assisting with picking club pickup orders throughout the day, staging, ensuring products are selected and staged according to company policy and procedures, ensuring Merchandising Associates pick orders within acceptable timeframes and are staged properly and performing occasional audits for accuracy. Handles inventory: moves and displays goods in safe and correct ways, tracks goods, maintains instock levels and controls shrinkage timely, reports poor inventory practices and low instock levels, uses inventory tools and equipment safely. Operates and maintains forklifts safely and correctly, reports poor or unsafe conditions or practices, and informs Management when forklifts are not in proper working order. Proactively identifies customers who need help, engages them and assists them with technology services and items, models and helps others with technology services, identifies shrink opportunities and problems with products, services, and work areas, and takes steps to fix the problem. Properly maintains equipment, ensures products are organized and stocked in correct ways, and promptly fixes any problems. Represents the company culture by respecting individual differences, building strong and trusting relationships, communicating with impact, energy, and positivity, and supporting associates.
The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 to $29.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
