Walmart is seeking a Distinguished Data Scientist to lead multi-year AI research for Search and Personalization from Sunnyvale, CA. You will influence product vision, engineering architecture, and executives through strategy, publications, and patents.

You will shape the direction across the company, partnering with senior leaders to align AI initiatives with business goals and drive transformative impact at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, CS, IT or related field with 6 years analytics experience.
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, CS, IT or related field with 4 years analytics experience.
• PhD in CS, ML, Statistics or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the multi-year AI research and technical strategy for Search and Personalization.
• Pioneer novel approaches to retrieval, ranking, personalization, and generative discovery.
• Define Walmart’s position on emerging AI capabilities and translate into concrete product investments.
• Influence roadmap and architecture at VP/SVP level, aligning AI strategy with business outcomes.

  The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00 - $338,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
