Role Overview

The Director of Vertical Marketing reports to the Group Director of Enterprise Marketing and leads the vertical marketing strategy for Walmart Connect, focusing on promoting ad products across various industry verticals through targeted initiatives and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies tailored to specific industry verticals, aligning with Walmart Connect’s brand and business goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within each vertical, using data to inform strategies.
  • Collaborate on short- and long-term visions for vertical marketing initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Build strong partnerships with sales, product marketing, communications, and other teams to ensure cohesive campaigns.
  • Align vertical marketing strategies with broader business objectives through active collaboration with leadership.
  • Marketing Execution
  • Create compelling sales narratives and presentations highlighting Walmart Connect’s ad products for specific industry verticals.
  • Oversee ad campaigns, including creative development, media buys, and testing for optimization.
  • Produce sales enablement materials like videos, case studies, and one-sheets to support revenue growth.
  • Develop content marketing strategies to boost engagement and conversions.
  • Manage industry event activations and conference presence.

  • Lead and foster a positive team environment aligned with Walmart values.

Essential Qualifications

  • 10+ years in vertical or industry-specific marketing, preferably in media platforms or advertising agencies.
  • Proven leadership in managing marketing teams and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Excellent communication skills with executive presence.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving results.
  • Experience in event management and content production for conferences and presentations.

The annual salary range is $132,000 - $264,000, with additional bonuses and stock options as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience, or 7 years in marketing or related fields. At least 1 year of supervisory or cross-functional project leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading cross-functional projects, marketing, supervisory roles, and a Master’s in Business Administration or similar advanced degree.
