Job description

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully. Develops and implements action plans to address deficiencies and leads process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, recognizes associates, and promotes a workplace of belonging. Recruits and develops qualified staff to meet staffing needs and support company growth.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and building accountability. Identifies improvement opportunities, measures progress, and demonstrates adaptability and continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing guidance on business practices.

Builds high-performing teams by embracing diversity, creating a supportive workplace, and fostering a culture of belonging. Works collaboratively, builds trust, and communicates positively to motivate and influence others. Attracts, retains, and develops talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments.

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $31.25 to $38.46, plus differential where applicable, with additional performance bonuses and potential regional pay adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college; OR one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience; OR two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling ammunition, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
