Walmart is seeking a Store Manager for its Johnson City location. The role involves leading teams, managing business operations, driving sales, and ensuring compliance with company standards. Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Tours stores and provides feedback, communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to address deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and promotes a culture of belonging in the workplace. Recruits and develops qualified staff to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs. Builds accountability and measures progress toward results, identifies improvement opportunities, and promotes continuous learning and adaptability.
Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and supporting the Open Door Policy. Builds high-performing teams, embracing diversity and creating a workplace where associates feel supported and connected. 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling ammunition, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
