OC&C Associate Partner Position - Retail and Hospitality Practice

OC&C is recruiting for the Associate Partner position in our Retail and Hospitality Practice across both our New York and Boston Offices.

We have the pre-eminent strategy consulting team in Retail and Hospitality, growing rapidly and winning with our distinctive points of view on key topics, such as:

  • What is the future of food delivery, and how is it disrupting the grocery and restaurant industries?
  • What is the best growth strategy for a Fashion pureplay?
  • How are the retail and leisure industries evolving to be more sustainable?
  • How can Luxury brands innovate to get ahead?
  • What is the future of travel distribution in the post-Covid world?

We work with leading Retail and Hospitality players on the most important strategy questions they face. Our team collaborates internationally and works closely with our analytics team for our corporate, investor, and financing clients.

Our expertise spans:

  • Grocery: working with corporates and investors globally on growth, innovation, commercial optimisation, and M&A.
  • Apparel and Luxury: advising CEOs and brand owners on customer growth strategies and operating model optimisation.

Position Summary

The Associate Partner (AP) role combines business development, project delivery, and practice building, such as contributing to publications or conference speeches. An AP may initially work on a single project, then oversee multiple or engage in business development. We support APs in building a personal platform for future partnership success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading thought leadership on strategy and diligence projects, from design to analysis and client presentation.
  • Managing project teams (typically 3-8 people), mentoring junior members.
  • Establishing strong client relationships and providing genuine insights.
  • Participating in sector team efforts to reinforce OC&C’s leadership in strategy consultancy.
Candidate Requirements

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing analysis, design, and delivery of consulting projects with client satisfaction.
  • Supporting client pitches and proposals.
  • Managing and motivating project teams, supporting their development.
  • Building and expanding client and advisor networks.
  • Translating strategy into actionable recommendations.
  • Developing intellectual property (publications, conference presentations).

Qualifications:

  • 6-7+ years of experience in complex strategy consulting, preferably with a top-tier firm.
  • Strong understanding of Retail and Hospitality markets.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and leading teams.
  • Proven ability to develop senior-level client relationships.
