Job summary

Aerotek in Centralia, IL seeks a US Production Specialist to operate seed cleaning and packaging lines, monitor automated systems, and support seed technicians on a fast-paced site.

You will perform QA/QC data collection, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with SOPs and safety regulations while coordinating with teams across the site. This is a contract position based onsite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years manufacturing or production support preferred.
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Title: US - Production Specialist

Job Description

The Production Specialist plays a key role in operating, monitoring, and supporting seed cleaning and packaging processes in a production and warehouse environment. This position ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality operations by working with automated equipment, software systems, and quality procedures while collaborating closely with seed technicians and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor seed cleaning and packaging lines using various software systems to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
• Take ownership of assigned processing areas, supporting seed technicians and collaborating across the site to meet daily throughput targets.
• Perform routine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations.
• Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) data collection and verification in both warehouse and laboratory settings.
• Support daily operational tasks including seed and material shipping and receiving, seed cleaning, and packaging activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with basic documentation workflows and system requirements.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to report issues, share updates, and coordinate tasks.
• Use computer systems and applications, including SAP, Outlook, and Excel/Sheets, to support production and documentation activities.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing or production support preferred.
• Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise systems, including basic documentation workflows.
• Strong organization and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a production environment.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in production, documentation, and quality checks.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with team members and supervisors.
• Basic computer proficiency, including SAP, Outlook, and Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ability to bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while performing production and warehouse tasks.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays during peak season (October to April) based on business demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• Previous experience in agriculture or seed production environments is beneficial.
• Experience in operating production equipment and understanding of basic preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with QA/QC practices in a warehouse or laboratory setting.
• Comfort working with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and support cross-functional collaboration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Centralia, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
