Job summary

IDEX Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Senior Ocean Marine Underwriter and Leader to launch and grow a US Marine program within an established MGA. The role focuses on building broker relationships, developing profitable marine portfolios, and guiding the long-term strategy for a US operation.

You’ll leverage prior brown water marine experience and a track record of profitability to scale the portfolio toward ambitious growth targets with oversight from a supportive platform.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of marine underwriting experience.
• Existing MGA experience preferred.
• Strong wholesale and retail broker relationships.
• A track record of profitable growth.
• Experience within Brown Water Marine business.
• A detailed understanding of portfolio performance and historical loss ratios.
• The ambition to build something meaningful.

Responsibilities

• Join an established MGA platform with infrastructure and leadership, while developing a specialist Brown Water Marine portfolio.
• Remain close to underwriting, brokers, and the portfolio rather than corporate management.
• Build profitable premium while shaping the long-term direction of the marine business.
• Aim to build a US Marine business and program to $25million premium within 5 years.
