Job summary

GDIT is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance I to support the US Navy. You will perform complex technical functions, including setup, maintenance, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic systems and prototypes.

Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience, plus 1+ year of Navy electronics experience. This is a customer-site role with growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex technical functions in support of engineering activities including setup, operations, maintenance, modifications, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Repair or modify cables and equipment returned by users or labs.
• Build, repair or modify complex cables.
• Work from schematics and drawings with minimal supervision.
• Conduct tests to collect design data and assist in research.
• Diagnose and isolate malfunctions that do not respond to standard corrections.
• Assist in development of electronic equipment.
• Use drawings and manuals to determine cable system requirements.
• Prepare and install distribution equipment and terminate cables on frames.

HOW AN ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN MAINTENANCE I WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• You will perform complex technical functions in support of engineering activities including set up, operations, maintenance, modifications, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models and/or specialized test equipment.
• Repair or modify cables and equipment returned by operational users or by personnel in the associated test and development laboratories.
• Build, repair or modify complex cables.
• Be Proficient with through hole and surface mount components. IPC Certification is a plus.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Conduct complex engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work.
• Diagnose and isolate equipment and system malfunctions that fail to respond to standard corrective measures.
• Assist in the development of electronic equipment.
• Use engineered drawings, statements of work, and technical manuals to determine requirements for cable systems.
• Prepare and install distribution equipment and terminate tip cables on main distribution frames.
• Ensures techniques, materials, and accomplishments meeting technical standards and specifications and engineering directives

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience in US Replacing Navy Electronics
• Location: Customer Site

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $23.80 - $32.20. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
