Job summary

General Motors seeks a seasoned Supervisor, U.S. Health Care Operations to lead day-to-day execution of the U.S. health care portfolio, spanning eligibility, enrollment, plan administration, and related programs.

The role emphasizes leadership, process discipline, and risk awareness in a complex benefits environment. It reports to the Manager, U.S. Health Care Strategy & Operations in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, finance, health administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits, with significant experience in U.S. health care or health and welfare benefit operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading people directly or as a clear team lead across complex operational workstreams.
• Strong working knowledge of health and welfare benefit administration, eligibility rules, enrollment processes, plan documents, vendor administration, and operational controls.
• Experience managing escalations, issue resolution, and cross-functional execution in a compliance-sensitive environment.
• Demonstrated analytical capability, including experience using data to assess performance, identify risks, and support decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate technical topics into practical guidance.
• Proven ability to prioritize across competing demands and maintain high standards of execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, HR systems, and AI-enabled productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead health care operations analysts across multiple complex benefit workstreams.
• Set priorities, balance workload, remove barriers, and ensure clear accountability.
• Establish standard work, procedures, and quality expectations to improve consistency and execution.
• Provide ongoing feedback, performance management, and development planning for team members.
• Oversee day-to-day administration of U.S. health benefit programs, including eligibility and enrollment, record maintenance, audits, and vendor payment processes.
• Oversee implementation of plan changes and new initiatives with attention to downstream impacts.
• Lead vendor oversight for service delivery, performance, SLAs, issue remediation, and readiness across the portfolio.
• Translate operational insights and data into recommendations to improve employee experience and program outcomes.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Tax, HRTO, and external vendors to ensure compliance and effective operations.
