William Blair is seeking an experienced small-cap generalist for its buy-side domestic research team in Chicago. The role focuses on identifying quality growth and core companies through rigorous fundamental research and disciplined processes, with strong emphasis on teamwork.

The position requires >7 years in buy-side analysis, solid accounting/finance knowledge, and a Bachelor's degree (MBA/CFA/CPA preferred).

Qualifications

• 7+ years buy-side experience as an Analyst or Generalist.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting and finance.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/CFA/CPA preferred.
• Ability to prioritize time and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze/model financial metrics and valuations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Identify and recommend new investment ideas to help portfolio managers achieve above-market returns.
• Monitor developments impacting assigned holdings.
• Perform fundamental analysis on sectors/industries to aid stock selection and portfolio construction.
• Communicate investment recommendations clearly to portfolio managers and analysts.
• Develop and maintain research relationships with company managements, industry contacts and vendors.
• Attend field trips and conferences to stay informed on fundamentals and trends.
