Job summary

Ultimo, an IFS company, is seeking a senior Finance leader to own the US financial integrity and close processes. You will coordinate with European leadership to ensure clean US numbers flow into group reporting and drive local compliance with strong controls.

From day one, you will own the month-end close, balance sheet accounts, and a US compliance calendar while guiding the US accounting team and aligning with central Finance processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA is an advantage but not required.
• Experience in controller/finance management roles in a multinational setting.
• Solid US GAAP knowledge and multi-state sales and use tax experience.
• Familiarity with IFRS is preferable.
• Hands-on payroll, benefits, banking, and payment controls.
• Based in the United States within the Eastern Time Zone; strong communication with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the US month-end close and key balance sheet accounts for group reporting.
• Ensure US accounting aligns with group policy under IFRS and adjust for US GAAP as needed.
• Lead US sales and use tax across states (Avalara) and coordinate tax compliance.
• Maintain US finance calendar and act as primary contact for auditors and advisers.

• Oversee treasury activities: cash forecasting, payments, banking administration.
• Lead US project and commission accounting with FP&A, Sales and HR.
• Support intercompany accounting and FX revaluation inputs for consolidation.
• Drive standardization with central Finance teams.

Job Description

This is a high-impact Accounting & Control role at the heart of our North American business. As the senior local Finance contact for Ultimo and FSI, you will own US financial integrity and compliance, and be the person who resolves the issues that cannot or should not be centralized. You will work closely with our European Finance leadership to keep the US numbers flowing cleanly into group reporting.

From day one, you will have meaningful ownership. An early focus will be strengthening control across the US entities: owning the month-end close and key balance sheet accounts, setting a clear US compliance calendar, and making sure sales and use tax, payroll and treasury processes are tightly run. You will also direct the US accounting team and help us keep moving routine, repeatable work into our central Finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the US month-end close and key balance sheet accounts, delivering accurate and timely numbers for group reporting
• Ensure US accounting is consistent with group policy under IFRS, and understand any US GAAP adjustments required for local reporting
• Lead US sales and use tax across multiple states, including Avalara, and coordinate federal, state and local tax compliance with external advisers
• Maintain the US finance and compliance calendar, and act as the main contact for auditors, tax advisers and authorities
• Partner with HR on US payroll, 401(k) and benefits accounting, including reconciliations
• Run US treasury execution: cash forecasting, payment runs within approval controls, and day-to-day banking administration
• Own US project accounting and commission accounting, working closely with FP&A, Sales and HR
• Provide local input to intercompany accounting and FX revaluation, which central Finance manages, and prepare a light US sub-consolidation within the group consolidation framework where the group or PE holding structure requires one
• Lead the US accounting team and drive continued standardization with our central Finance teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; a CPA is an advantage but not a requirement
• Experience in a Controller, Senior Accounting Manager or Finance Manager role, ideally within a multinational
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and reporting requirements, and multi-state sales and use tax experience
• Working knowledge of IFRS is preferable
• Hands-on experience with payroll, benefits, banking and payment controls
• A hands-on mindset: comfortable owning the detail yourself rather than operating only through a large team
• Based in the United States within the Eastern Time Zone. This is required to ensure real-time collaboration with our European Finance team
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders and external advisers
• Experience in SaaS or software, and with Certinia, Lucanet or Avalara, is an advantage
