Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. in Shelton, CT seeks a Cloud Engineer to lead AWS infrastructure design, deployment, and security. You'll partner with UK-based engineers, own uptime and reliability, and help migrate remaining workloads from a legacy data center to AWS.

You will design scalable solutions, implement IaC, manage CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across time zones to deliver robust cloud services with an emphasis on performance and secure, auditable operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS cloud infrastructure experience required.
• Strong networking and security capabilities with practical threat mitigation.
• Experience with IaC and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python, Bash).
• Hands-on container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS."
• Familiarity with multi-team collaboration across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure for production, staging, and development.
• Contribute to network architecture including VPCs, subnets, security groups, VPNs, and DNS.
• Implement and maintain security best practices: IAM, encryption, secrets management, compliance.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Support migration of remaining datacenter workloads to AWS.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure for performance and cost.
