Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Tenet Physician Resources seeks a dedicated Urology Technician to support urodynamic testing and related procedures in a physician office setting. You will perform ultrasound assessments, assist with cystoscopy and biopsies, manage sterile technique, and monitor patient status during procedures, while collaborating closely with physicians and staff to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; training in urology testing or ultrasound in a urology setting.
• Experience as a Urology Technician preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform urodynamic, cystometrography and uroflowmetry testing.
• Perform ultrasonography to assess urological conditions.
• Insert and manage urinary catheters using sterile methods; setup for procedures.
• Assist physician at bedside for outpatient procedures and monitor patient status.

Job description

Performs urodynamic, cystometrography and uroflowmetry testing. Performs ultrasonography to determine various urological conditions or status' including, but not limited to post void residual, prostate volume, organic impotence, and infertility related diagnoses.

• Changes, using sterile methods, suprapubic urinary catheters, and insertion of various foley catheters.
• Assists physician at bedside for multiple outpatient procedures including cystoscopy, vasectomy, excision of lesions, prostate, and bladder biopsy and Vantas implants for cancer patients.
• Manages surgical instruments and maintains strict aseptic technique when setting up and assisting physicians for procedures. Monitors vital signs and documents any changes to patient status during procedures.

Education:

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Training in urology performing urodynamic testing, cystometrography and ultrasounds in a urology setting, or the equivalent combination of training and/or experience

Experience:

• Preferred: Experience as a Urology Technician.

Certifications:

• Required: AHA BLS.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant certification
