The Research Fellow will work independently, in close cooperation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, performing routine and complex laboratory procedures. Responsibilities include data analysis and interpretation, assisting in grant proposal preparation, and contributing to publications and presentations. The role does not involve grant funding generation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals; not responsible for generating grant funds.
• Participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
• Design and perform experiments, maintain accurate records, and analyze results with the PI.
• Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
• Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data.
• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

This position supports the Cancer Biology Program and interfaces with multiple research teams with varied interests, projects, and timelines.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Doctorate (PhD) in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Systems Biology.
• Ability to work independently on research projects designed by a mentor within the area of specialization.
• Thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research objectives.
• Experience with experimental protocols, data collection, analysis, and equipment maintenance.

Preferred Experience:

• 3+ years working with big data or omics data.
• Knowledge of algorithms, scientific computing, machine learning, or statistics.
• Familiarity with Python, Matlab, and R.
• At least 1 year manipulating and analyzing large omics datasets in exploratory and pipeline contexts.
