Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive urologic care to veterans, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of urolithiasis, voiding dysfunction, prostate disorders, erectile dysfunction, and urologic malignancies.
• Perform a wide range of outpatient procedures, including cystoscopies, prostate biopsies, and urodynamic studies.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary tumor boards, clinical/academic/administrative committees, and quality assurance programs.
• Supervise and teach Urology residents and medical students.
• Maintain a caseload of 10-12 patients per day
  
  

Qualifications:

• MD/DO degree
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Urology
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to patient safety and High-Reliability Organization principles.
• Comfortable supervising and teaching learners.
• Excellent leadership skills
• Must be a US Citizen
  
  

Opportunity Details:

• Location: Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas (within the South Texas Medical Center District)
• FTEs Needed: 2
• Call Coverage: First call to the on-call resident through our academic affiliate, with Urology senior resident second-call backup; backup home cal shared evenly among 3 providers (rare to be called in).
• Academic Affiliation: Yes, with potential for appointment as Adjunct Professor at UT Health San Antonio.
• Support Staff: 3 Medical Support Assistants (MAS), 3 Administrative Staff
