Job summary

Essen Health Care in New York City is seeking a Physician Assistant to support our surgical and clinical teams. The role focuses on interpreting tests, planning patient discharge, and assisting surgeons in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS PA license, NCCPA certification, a DEA certificate, BLS, and a graduate PA program diploma; you will participate in coordinated care across ED, nursing homes, and specialty services while upholding our equal-opportunity

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required
Current BLS certification required
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program, required
Current NCCPA board certification, required
D.E.A. Certificate, required
Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education, required
Infection Control Certificate, required

Responsibilities

Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests;
Answers consults from the ED and other wards for Urology and Orthopedics;
Evaluates and provides appropriate intervention (in conjunction with supervising surgeon) for ER and nursing home patients;
Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate;
Formulates and implements discharge planning and clinical follow-up in conjunction with surgeon;
Performs first assistant duties in all surgical procedures.
