Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Urology seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy general urology practice in a team-oriented environment. The role includes outpatient urologic care, patient education, and collaboration with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administration.

Clinic hours 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with potential four 10-hour days after onboarding; average 18–20 patients per day; NYS PA license required and completion of accredited PA program; Epic EMR

Qualifications

• License and active registration as a physician assistant in New York State.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.
• Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment.
• Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of general urologic conditions.
• See both scheduled patients and same-day urgent add-ons for concerns such as hematuria, urinary tract infections, elevated PSA, and kidney stones.
• Perform in-office procedures, including testosterone and Eligard injections.
• Conduct patient education, follow-up visits, and medication management.
• Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies.
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives.
