The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Staff Urologist for the Stockton VA Outpatient Clinic. This role involves providing comprehensive urological care to veterans, including outpatient services and surgical interventions. VA Northern California Health Care System is seeking a Staff Urologist to serve Veterans at the Stockton VA Outpatient Clinic. The clinic offers a comprehensive range of services including primary care, specialty clinics, telemedicine, and mobile health services for rural veterans.
The Urologist will report to the Chief of Urology within the Surgical Services Department and will be responsible for delivering advanced urological care. Responsibilities include reviewing consults and referrals, coordinating clinics, pre-operative assessments, surgical interventions, post-operative care, and collaborating with local facilities for contract services.
Key duties involve providing outpatient urological care, informing patients about treatment options, obtaining informed consent, and performing procedures such as cystoscopies, vasectomies, circumcisions, and other genital surgeries. The role includes pre-operative evaluations and perioperative management, with opportunities to work at the Sacramento VA Medical Center once a month to maintain surgical skills and potentially participate as Volunteer Clinical Faculty with UC Davis residents.
Salary Range: $327,000 - $357,000
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with no evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties. Recruitment incentives and relocation assistance are available, and education debt reduction programs may apply.
Qualifications include U.S. citizenship or PRA status, a current unrestricted medical license, board certification or eligibility in Urology, and seasonal influenza vaccination. Preferred experience includes surgical observation, outpatient urology, and surgical administration.
