Staff Urologist opportunity with Fayetteville NC Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)

Position Overview

The Fayetteville NC VAMC Surgical Care Service Line is seeking a staff Urologist to join their urology team. Responsibilities include caring for veterans and performing routine inpatient/outpatient procedures such as prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, and TURP procedures.

About Fayetteville VAMC

The Fayetteville VAMC provides healthcare services to approximately 80,000 Veterans across 19 counties in southeastern North Carolina. Facilities include the Fayetteville VA Medical Center, two healthcare centers in Fayetteville and Wilmington, and 18 outpatient clinics.

The VAMC has affiliations with 44 colleges and universities, offering 112 programs, including a stand-alone Dental Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in collaboration with Fort Bragg dental training facilities.

Work Schedule & Benefits

• Full-time, primarily day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some call responsibilities
• Recruitment or Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May Be Authorized (contact for details)
• Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Up to $200,000 over 5 years, with a maximum of $40,000 per year
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually (including 26 days of leave, 13 sick days, 11 federal holidays, and possible 5 days for CME)
• Retirement: Federal pension (vesting after 5 years) and a 401(k) with up to 5% VA contributions
