Job summary

Madison Health in London, OH seeks a Medical Assistant - Urology to support the patient care process. You will assist the physician and clinical staff in delivering care and ensuring proper reception and record keeping prior to medical services.

Responsibilities include collecting initial data, performing in-house tests and venipuncture, assisting in procedures, preparing rooms, handling messages, and scheduling tests and referrals per payer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred or equivalent experience in a primary care setting.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician, nurse practitioner or other clinical staff in preparation of patients for examinations and procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory tests, venipuncture and specimen handling as ordered.
• Assist with direct patient care procedures and administer treatments as directed.
• Clean and restock exam rooms; monitor inventory and manage supplies.
• Handle patient messages, prescription refill requests and communicate orders to patients and pharmacy.
• Schedule appointments, pre-authorizations and referrals per payer requirements.
• Greet patients and collect insurance and demographic information entering data into IHIS.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Medical Assistant certification preferred or equivalent experience in a primary care setting.

BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
