Job summary

Solaris Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urological services. You will perform administrative and clinical tasks, coordinate with physicians and staff, greet patients, measure vitals, and prepare patients for examinations.

You will assist with phlebotomy, basic lab tests, medication preparation under physician authorization, and office procedures. Strong attention to HIPAA, documentation, and efficient room turnover are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months experience in a physician's office; urology experience desired.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification or Registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and clinical duties under supervisor.
• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments with physicians and staff.
• Greet and prepare patients.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
• Provide patient education on medications, disease management, home treatments and diets.
• Prepare patients for examinations and routine screening tests.
• Assist physicians with exams.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic lab tests.
• May perform EKGs after training.
• Assist with X-ray and physician therapy procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications with physician authorization.
• Change dressings and remove sutures.
• CPR if BLS certified.
• Maintain accurate, ethical documentation.
• Open/close the office; maintain patient logs.
• Maintain prescription ledger; ensure back office flow.
