Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, operating the Urology clinic, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support physician efficiency and patient care through skilled clinical assistance and EMR documentation.

You will handle admission interviews, patient flow, and instruction for tests and treatments while educating patients and families about care plans. Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented approach are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED upon hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant course completed.
• Medication Aide 40-hour course or current certification if applicable.
• May require Non-Certified Radiologic Technician (NCT) training.
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) certification upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days.
• Electronic health record experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission interview, documentation, and patient flow.
• Accompany the physician to the exam room and document in EMR all aspects of care.
• Schedule and provide patient instructions for tests, treatments and admissions, following insurance protocols.
• Provide patient and family education on healthcare management, disease process, treatment, tests, medication and follow-up under supervision.
• Maintain and update patient education materials and consent forms.
• Prepare patient records and information pertinent to the encounter.
