Job summary

Unio Health Partners (UHP) seeks a skilled Urologist to deliver comprehensive urological care within our California network. You will diagnose, treat, and manage patient conditions, perform surgeries, and work with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

The role requires board certification or eligibility in urology, completion of a urology residency, and a current DEA license. On-site position with a competitive salary and full benefits.

Qualifications

  • Current DEA License is required.
  • Board-certified/eligible in Urology is required.
  • Completion of a residency program in urology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose or treat diseases or disorders of genitourinary organs and tracts, including erectile dysfunction, infertility, incontinence, cancers, stones, and sexual health issues.
  • Document or review patients' histories.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., PSA) for cancer detection.
  • Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries.
  • Examine patients using imaging and diagnostic equipment to assess disorders.
  • Treat urinary tract dysfunctions with appropriate instruments and techniques.
  • Prescribe or administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or other treatments as needed.
  • Provide urology consultation to physicians and patients.
  • Utilize alternative surgical approaches such as lithotripsy, laparoscopy, and laser techniques.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Physician/Urologist is responsible for providing urological care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. The Physician follows federal/state laws and regulations to ensure excellent patient relations. The Physician will be responsible for the evaluation and management of patients with urological disorders including, but not limited to performance of cystoscopy, transurethral surgeries, nephrectomy, vasectomy, varicoceles, advanced pediatric surgery, pyeloplasty, epispadias, hypospadias repair, and gender assignment. Communication with other physicians, staff, and patients is paramount in this position to ensure that patient needs are met effectively and efficiently.

What you will be doing
  • Diagnose or treat diseases or disorders of genitourinary organs and tracts including erectile dysfunction (ED), infertility, incontinence, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urethral stones, or premature ejaculation.
  • Document or review patients' histories.
  • Order and interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening, to detect prostate cancer.
  • Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries.
  • Examine patients using equipment, such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes, to determine the nature and extent of disorder or injury.
  • Treat lower urinary tract dysfunctions using equipment such as diathermy machines, catheters, cystoscopes, and radium emanation tubes.
  • Prescribe or administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infection or injury.
  • Provide urology consultation to physicians or other health care professionals.
  • Treat urologic disorders using alternatives to traditional surgery such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laparoscopy, and laser techniques.
