Job summary

Unio Health Partners in California seeks a Physician/Urologist to provide comprehensive urological care, including assessment, treatment, and surgery planning. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to manage conditions from ED to cancer, using cystoscopy, endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques.

Candidates must be board-certified/eligible in Urology, hold a current DEA license, complete residency in urology, and have at least three years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat genitourinary diseases and disorders.
  • Document patient histories and review medical records.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., PSA) to detect cancer.
  • Perform urological surgeries as indicated.
  • Examine patients using imaging tools to assess conditions.
  • Treat urinary dysfunctions with appropriate devices and techniques.
  • Prescribe antibiotics and manage infections when needed.
  • Provide urology consultations to other physicians.
  • Offer non-surgical options like lithotripsy, laparoscopy, or laser therapy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Physician/Urologist is responsible for providing urological care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. The Physician follows federal/state laws and regulations to ensure excellent patient relations. The Physician will be responsible for the evaluation and management of patients with urological disorders including, but not limited to performance of cystoscopy, transurethral surgeries, nephrectomy, vasectomy, varicoceles, advanced pediatric surgery, pyeloplasty, epispadias, hypospadias repair, and gender assignment. Communication with other physicians, staff, and patients is paramount in this position to ensure that patient needs are met effectively and efficiently.

What you will be doing
  • Diagnose or treat diseases or disorders of genitourinary organs and tracts including erectile dysfunction (ED), infertility, incontinence, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urethral stones, or premature ejaculation.
  • Document or review patients' histories.
  • Order and interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening, to detect prostate cancer.
  • Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries.
  • Examine patients using equipment, such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes, to determine the nature and extent of disorder or injury.
  • Treat lower urinary tract dysfunctions using equipment such as diathermy machines, catheters, cystoscopes, and radium emanation tubes.
  • Prescribe or administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infection or injury.
  • Provide urology consultation to physicians or other health care professionals.
  • Treat urologic disorders using alternatives to traditional surgery such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laparoscopy, and laser techniques.
