Job summary

A leading manufacturing group is seeking a Production Operations Manager to oversee a machining/assembly team in the Town of Islip. The role involves driving performance, ensuring efficiency through Lean methodologies, and maintaining a safe work environment. Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a machining/assembly team to meet production targets, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Drive employee performance, training, and engagement through coaching and recognition.
  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace (6S standards) and optimize production workflows.
  • Manage daily operations, including capacity planning, machine utilization, and Lean/Kaizen initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure smooth production flow.
  • Track key metrics (OEE, TPM, delivery performance) and maintain accurate ERP (Syteline) updates.
  • Handle workforce management—attendance, overtime, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
  • Identify process improvements to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
  • Foster teamwork, clear communication, and a positive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Min Degree in Engineering with min 5 years in manufacturing production/operations.
  • Strong leadership & communication skills.
  • Detail-driven, multitasker who thrives under pressure.
  • Possess Lean manufacturing knowledge & machining/metal fabrication expertise.
  • Familiar with NADCAP processes would be an advantage
  • Team player in fast-paced settings
  • High integrity & ethical standards.
