Job summary

DOCCS in Melbourne, FL, seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a full-time mix of urgent care and primary care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will work with physicians, other providers, and staff to deliver comprehensive patient care across ages with rotating weekend coverage.

New graduates are welcome; compensation within the posted range will reflect experience and qualifications, with weekday and weekend rotations.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Eligible for Florida PA or APRN license.
Appropriate national certification/credentialing required for practice.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
Urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care experience preferred but not required.
New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and routine medical conditions
Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, develop treatment plans, and document patient care
Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
Prescribe medications and treatments within applicable scope of practice
Perform appropriate outpatient and urgent-care procedures based on training and competency
Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and ongoing primary-care management when appropriate
Work collaboratively with physicians, other providers, medical assistants, and front-office staff
Maintain timely and accurate medical records
