We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves preparing patients and examination rooms, documenting vital signs, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. You will provide essential support to physicians by assisting with procedures, documenting medical history, and conveying instructions to patients.
Responsibilities
- Document vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Assist physicians by documenting medical history and case notes.
- Relay instructions from physicians to patients or authorized persons.
- Collect and document patient data in person and by phone.
- Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review.
- Complete and accurately take messages, route them to appropriate areas, and enter orders and referrals.
- Set up cases in the EMR system and update demographics.
- Track and route test results to physicians/nurse practitioners for review.
- Communicate test results to patients when appropriate.
- Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.
- Perform triage as directed by physician/nurse practitioner.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Proficiently use electronic health records for daily documentation and patient communication.
- Process orders appropriately.
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Ability to accurately document and communicate medical information.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience in phlebotomy is an advantage.
- Capability to work within a team in a busy healthcare environment.
The position operates in a busy urgent care setting, handling 50-100 patients daily. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to extend to 6 PM if needed. The role offers opportunities to grow within the company and potential for overtime in different specialties.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
