The Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides clients with various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.

Essential Functions:

• Personal Care with ADLs and IADLs: Provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, skin care, back care, shampoo, oral hygiene, feeding, transfers, range of motion exercises, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (electric wheelchair, ceiling lift), change of position, and toileting.
• Companion/Sitter/Household Management: Provide companionship and respite services for family.
• Stand-by assist with transfers for fall risk clients.
• Assist a client who is a woman, with immediate assistance needed for 4 hours on weekend mornings.
• Occasional transportation to run errands within a 5-mile radius once a week.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to an insured automobile or adequate transportation
• Previous experience with SC Medicaid / DDSN clients preferred

Must be: willing to keep the client active, good at communicating, and have a driver's license and car.
