CityVet Cedar Hill is seeking a Veterinary Technician (VT) for our urgent care team. The VT will support veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery, taking x-rays, collecting samples, and assisting with anesthesia and exams.

This role emphasizes efficient patient care and clear communication with clients and front desk staff. Qualified candidates have at least 1 year in the veterinary field, are at least 18, and can lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year veterinary industry experience.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery, including anesthesia and radiography.
• Obtain samples (blood, stool, urine) for testing and manage lab work.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the DVM.
• Provide client education and post-visit instructions.
