Job description

Urgent Care Veterinarian | Heart & Soul Animal Urgent Care | Portland, OR
Meaningful work. A supportive team. A culture we build together.

Heart & Soul Animal Urgent Care is a locally owned practice in Northeast Portland providing high-quality, same-day care for pets with illnesses and injuries. We show up for pets - and the people who love them - when it matters most.

We're looking for a veterinarian who enjoys the pace and variety of urgent care and wants to work with a team that values kindness, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

Care with heart

Our clinic is equipped with digital radiology, ultrasound for focused urgent care assessments, and an in-house diagnostic laboratory. We combine thoughtful medicine with clear communication, helping clients understand their options and feel supported throughout their pet’s care.

A workplace where your voice matters

We believe we care best for others when we care for each other. That means treating colleagues with respect, sharing knowledge, asking for help, and working through challenges together.

We support personal and professional growth through regular team meetings, individual check-ins, feedback, and mentorship. These conversations go both ways: we want to hear your ideas, understand your goals, and learn how we can better support you.

A healthy workplace takes daily effort from all of us. We're committed to building a practice where people feel appreciated, included, and comfortable being themselves—and where kindness and accountability go hand in hand.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll thrive here if you:
  • Enjoy the fast-paced nature of urgent care and emergency medicine.
  • Practice thoughtful, high-quality medicine and communicate with compassion.
  • Value teamwork, welcome feedback, and contribute to a respectful workplace.
  • Want to help shape a growing, community-focused practice.
Schedule, compensation, and benefits

We're open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with schedule options of three or four 10-hour shifts per week.

We offer competitive ProSal compensation - a base salary plus production-based earnings - along with:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Employee pet care discounts
